As the head of this dispensation Joseph Smith taught the principle of obtaining spiritual knowledge as the central theme of his ministry. It was the heartbeat of what he restored. The role of knowledge in our path to exaltation is a critical one to understand.

This video first addresses the criticism of Joseph's doctrine that knowledge is necessary for salvation by answering the accusation of "gnosticism". A slippery and vague accusation, those who decry "Mormon Gnostics" have to make an accounting for the trove of teachings the founding prophets of this dispensation revealed on our need for and the salvific purpose of knowledge.
